Picnic Loaf

Chestnut SoupMethod:

1. Slice a lid off your bread but don't cut too far down into the loaf. There needs to be just enough taken off the top so that you can fir your hand in. Do not throw away the lid!

2. Using your hand scoop out the bread from inside of the crust. Leave a nice lining of bread but you need to make enough room to fit in your filling.

3. You won't need the bread you have scooped out but make use of it - turn it into bread crumbs or have it with soup.

4. Start filling your sandwich - slowly build up the layers inside the loaf using all of the ingredients. Compress it in as much as possible taking care not to rip open the loaf.

5. Once full place the lid back on and wrap it tightly in cling-film.

6. Chill in the fridge for a good couple of hours before you serve.

7. Remove the cling-film and slice. If it has been compacted and filled tight enough you will easily be able to cut through keeping the shape and layers intact.
