Olivers (Worksop ) - Revisited
By Vincent Allen
Sometime last year one of our reviewers paid a visit to Oliver's coffee shop in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Recently Vincent Allen from the community friend team paid a quick visit to see if anything had changed and if any improvements have been made.
Below is the original review:-
Oliver's, situated almost at the corner of Bridge Place and Watson Road , opened a few weeks ago. Several times I had walked past and seen people busy getting everything ready and I thought that it looked as if it was going to be a really comfortable place for a quick coffee. I wasn't wrong.
We called one lunchtime last week and ordered a latte and a cappuccino. We settled ourselves by the window, in really comfortable seats, and read the papers which they have very thoughtfully provided for their customers. The coffees soon arrived, served with a small biscuit. They were large, very hot and the latte was perfect although I thought that the cappuccino was a bit weak and I would certainly ask for a stronger one next time. We had arranged to go home for lunch but I would certainly visit again and have a sandwich or a jacket potato as the prices on the quite extensive menu were very reasonable.
Just one small criticism, the windowsill where we sat could have done with a wipe down but I know it is difficult to keep it dust free because of the constant traffic, and I felt some of the tables didn't look as shiny as they could have done.
Update - March 2008
I recently visited Oliver's to see if anything had changed. I have only been in for drinks recently and they have always been great. I would highly recommend the hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream.
