The Sun Inn, Everton (Doncaster)

With such a great selection of pubs and restaurants around the South Yorkshire / Nottinghamshire area it can be hard to find a really bad one.

Sadly the Sun Inn in Everton, near Bawtry was not one of them.

The Sun Inn can be found on the Bawrty to Gainsborough road and from the outside does not look that impressive or special, just another pub. On the inside it's much the same just another random pub in out in the sticks, a little tatty but very welcoming.

And now on to the food, this is the biggest surprise, When you are going out for food, that's not the décor or impressive building that matters, it's the food and the Sun Inn certainly delivers on the food side of things.

We ordered drinks at the bar and were asked if we were dining. We were told that the carvery had finished but the meals off the standard menu were still available.

The menu had a wide selection of typical pub grub along with some vegetarian options, overall a wide selection. We opted for the Meat pie, Lasagna and a mixed grill and very reasonable prices.

It was not too long before we were brought some very well presented plates, with our main meals on along with extra plates with all the veg and some very large homemade chips.

The quality of the food was excellent, perfectly cooked and was much better that we anticipated.

What more can you ask for restaurant quality food, restaurant quality presentation all at local Northern Pub prices!

Well worth a trip out.
